There are many hard toothed gear reducers on the market, whose performance and size can completely replace cycloidal gear reducers, which is determined by the current trend of equipment matching and the differences in their characteristics.

The characteristics of hard tooth surface gear reducers and cycloidal gear reducers: Due to the early entry of cycloidal gear reducers into the market, many early equipment manufacturers first chose cycloidal gear reducers. Cycloidal gear reducers have the advantages of good economic benefits, strong universality of accessories, and fast delivery. The hard tooth surface reducer belongs to the European standard, and its advantages are beautiful appearance, hard tooth surface, impact resistance, wide speed ratio distribution, and high efficiency. The disadvantage is that the price is relatively high and the delivery time is longer.

Trend: With the upgrading of old equipment and the improvement of production efficiency, many cycloids are no longer able to meet the needs of equipment matching, so the demand for replacing cycloidal gear reducers with hard tooth surface gear reducers is becoming increasingly apparent. However, hard tooth surface reducers and cycloidal gear reducers belong to different series and have different dimensions. Under the guidance of the market, many manufacturers have developed gear reducers that completely replace the installation size of cycloidal gear reducers, that is, the mold installation size of hard tooth gear reducers is exactly the same as that of cycloidal gear reducers, providing convenience for customers of equipment matching factories and achieving industrial upgrading.

Method

1. The cycloidal gear reducer has high noise. If the noise is high and the oil temperature does not change, it is usually not important. Or check the noise level and call the reducer manufacturer to check if the noise level is normal.

2. Lubrication issues often lead to gearbox heating and noise. If there is too much lubricating oil, the stirring oil will lose power and generate a large amount of heat. If there is too little lubricating oil, friction will also generate a large amount of heat.

3. The mixer reducer and cycloid reducer should be installed vertically. In this case, small reducers generally use grease lubrication. Please confirm that the amount of grease injected meets the manufacturer's requirements; Large models typically use forced lubrication. Confirm if the lubrication pipeline is blocked.

4. Check if the alignment between the reducer and the driven shaft exceeds the required range. If the alignment is not good, the output shaft of the reducer will withstand excessive radial force. If severe, it can wear a large amount of oil seals and eccentric bearings, which may also generate a large amount of heat. Eccentric bearings are the weak link of cycloidal gear reducers, and their quality is crucial.

5. Reassembly, accuracy is difficult to guarantee! The reducer has problems with low machining accuracy, resulting in poor engagement between the curved plate and the needle pin. The curved disc is the core component of a cycloidal gear reducer.

Generally speaking, low-quality manufacturers use wire cutting without specialized gear grinding machines, or the use of improved machines leads to low accuracy, high noise, and  more heat.
